God's Purpose Is Love

The title of this Blog was this week's sermon's 3rd Point. A lot of thoughts have been swirling around in my mind within the past week. Some thoughts are surrounding circumstances and discussions that have arose over the past week. But here's what I want to talk about...

Robby & I recently bought "The Love Dare" book by Stephen and Alex Kendrick. We can't seem to find time to sit down and read it together, so I just opened it up on one of my breaks at work. I wanted to highlight a couple of the things I have so far.

*Marriage shows us our need to grow and deal with our own issues and self-centerdness through the help of a lifelong partner. If we are teachable, we will learn to do the one thing that is most important in marriage (and in life) -to love. This powerful union provices the path for you to learn how to love another imperfect persion unconditionally. It is wonderful, It is difficult. It is life changing.

*You must take the view that instead of following your heart, you are choosing to lead it. The world says to follow your heart, but if you are not leading it, then someone or something else is. Jeremiah 17:9 says "The heart is more deceitful than all else."

That isn't even from a chapter from the book, but I found it to be incredibly interesting, and therefore I have blogged it.

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 & 13

I don't believe people "fall out of love". I believe people fall out of the feeling of love, and don't understand how to love or accept love after all of the fuzzy feelings are gone. Love is TOUGH. But I believe LOVE will get you through. If you love God, and if you love your Spouse, you will survive even the toughest of times.
